Sol Luongo

Welcome

Hi, I’m Sol Luongo — a painter, muralist, and all-around maker of tactile, layered worlds. I’m an old-school, hands-on artist who loves texture, color, and a bit of chaos. My work is intricate, maximalist (at least most of the time), whimsical, and feminist, often filled with details that reveal themselves the longer you look. I usually paint in acrylics and oils, but I come most alive on big walls — murals are my playground. Please wander through my site (once it’s live!) and explore my paintings and murals. You’ll find original works for sale, and I’m available for commissions — whether you’re looking for a custom piece or a design for your space. I’m based in Los Angeles, raised in Uruguay, and have painted murals across the U.S. and Europe. When I’m not painting, I make noise in a few bands — The Vigils and Turning Violet — and I DJ under the name DJ Dark Dork.  Most of the times DJ Ataxia is by my side. You can catch us at our weekly Happy Hour:

"Serenata Siniestra" at Footsies in Highland Park.

This website is currently under construction (as of October 2025) — it’ll be up and running very soon. In the meantime, thanks for stopping by and getting a glimpse into my world.

— Sol

Power house snake mural

This piece is one of many murals I’ve created over the years. My very first mural was painted in 2010 — on the 30-foot ceiling of a yoga studio. Since then, I’ve brought color and character to streets, restaurants, and public spaces around the world. I’ve even had the joy of painting murals in front of a castle in Vimianzo, a small town in northwestern Spain. The mural shown here lives at Powerhouse, a historic neighborhood bar in the heart of Hollywood, California.
