Powerhouse - Snakes

Powerhouse is the bar where I bartend — a beautiful, historic spot that first opened its doors in 1947. The place is full of stories; legends like The Beatles and The Doors once drank here. Over the decades, Powerhouse went through many transformations and even closed during the pandemic, but it triumphantly reopened on September 29, 2022.

When it came back, I wanted to design something that truly captured its spirit — a logo and color scheme that felt solid, bold, and unapologetically rock and roll. For Christmas, I created a logo featuring two snakes and made koozies as gifts for the staff and regulars.

The snakes became such a hit that, after talking with Kwame (Powerhouse’s GM), we decided to immortalize them on the back wall of the bar. That’s how the Powerhouse mural was born — a tribute to the bar’s resilience, attitude, and timeless rock energy.
